Category 5 Hurricane Melissa Devastates an artist’s dream.

It all begins with an idea.

Hurricane Melissa was an extremely powerful, erratic, and catastrophic tropical cyclone which became the third-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record, tied with the 1935 Labor Day hurricane, as well as the most intense at landfall in the Atlantic basin.

Melissa caused catastrophic damage upon making landfall in Jamaica on the morning of October 28, 2025 and was the strongest recorded hurricane to ever make landfall on the island, surpassing Hurricane Gilbert in 1988.

Melissa also produced the highest wind gust ever measured by ‘dropsonde’ data, with a recorded wind gust of 252 mph (406 km/h) at a height of 657 ft (200 m), surpassing that of Typhoon Megi in 2010.

Khadneal’s entire studio and garden, and most of his home were destroyed in less than 5 hours. The pictures and videos are heartbreaking. With so much devastation and so many others in Khadneal’s community with similar outcomes, it’s now a matter of time, resources, and resilience which will bring back this community and nation into better days.

Please consider buying a painting and/or making a donation to Khadneal’s rebuild and future success. Everything helps!
